QSEED Pty Ltd is an independent Seed Certification service provider, established principally to provide to the seed industry a seed certification service.

Services provided by QSEED were formally conducted by State Government Agriculture Departments. QSEED can offer a full range of services for crops including grain, grain legumes, cotton and pasture species. The seed and services offered have the same status as previously provided by Governments and are in accordance with international standards and accepted practices that were previously employed by them for many decades.

What is QSEED?

The “Q” stands for Queensland and Quality. We are based in Queensland but it is the service we offer locally rather than where we are that is important. Inspectors are located in major centres so that most production areas are within one hour’s drive of the inspectors’ home base.

WHAT QSEED CAN PROVIDE TO THE SEED INDUSTRY

  • Certification for OECD, AOSCA and domestic purposes.
  • Inspect crops for seed quality including crops for Registered Seed.
  • Inspect crops for disease, weed and insect detection for AQIS requirements.
  • Sample seed for official purposes.
  • Seed sampling training to individuals and seed cleaning premises.
  • Accredit individuals to sample seed for official purposes.
  • Supply Basic Seed for selected tropical and subtropical pasture species.
  • Implement Quality Assurance programs for certified seed and other activities.
  • Inspection of turf species for certification.
  • An effective and cost efficient Seed Certification Service.
  • Close working relationship with an accredited ISTA seed-testing laboratory located at the University of Queensland, Gatton, which can provide timely results.

Activities are located in Melbourne Victoria, Southern, Central and Northern NSW, Kununurra WA and various locations in Queensland.

HOW WE MAINTAIN STANDARDS

Standards are maintained through compliance of international seed certification schemes.
